Copper Mountain is known for its convention center right on the snow, golf courses and proximity in Summit County Colorado to Breckenridge, Vail, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. Opening in 1972 Copper is a fairly new ski mountain, but growing rapidly with many black diamond and double black diamond runs in their expert only bowls; Copper, Spaulding, Resolution and Union. Copper Mountain Ski resort has 2,465 acres with a 125 total runs, 21% beginner, 25% intermediate, 36% advanced and 18% expert. Currently they have 22 lifts, including 5 high speed chairs, 10 chairs, 6 surface and 1 tubing run for the kids? or kids at heart.
Hotels at Copper Mountain are divided as they have 3 distinct base areas, East Village, the Center Village and Union Creek. The Center Village is the main area and you can ski right down and right into the restaurants at the base. The base is at 9,712 feet with the summit at 12.313 which makes for a nice run in elevation. When you make your reservations for Copper Mountain ski resort, stay slopeside as the nearest town is Frisco which is 8 miles out.
