| Can you say Cowboy Country? Jackson is a town located in the Jackson Hole valley of Teton County, where the ski resort gets its name. Jackson is a wonderful mix of classic cowboy, the old west, a ski resort, yet with a modern flair. You won't find grits and vittles in the restaurants, but rather an assortment of top culinary chefs cooking contemporary food with the latest techniques. Jackson is home to several ski resorts. On the southeast edge of town there is Snow King, Jackson's original ski hill. It has steep vertical slopes and is night-lit. Most famous is the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, 12 miles out. Opened in 1966, it has abundant steep terrain and has one of the highest vertical drops. Also popular is Grand Targhee, about an hour away to the northwest, opened in the early 1970s and is located on the west side of the Teton Range in Alta, Wyoming. Build your ski holiday vacation so you can ski both Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee. |
